Terminal 3 – Emirates

We can say that the Terminal at Dubai Airport is almost entirely given to Emirates. It includes 2 multi-level concourses. Concourse A and B, which are connected by a 950-meter walkway.

By the way, Terminal 3 is currently the largest in the world!

In concourse B, in addition to duty free, food courts and other things, there are fitness centers and a hotel with 300 rooms. It is also connected by a walkway to Concourse C of Terminal 1.

In addition, from Concourse A to Concourses B and C can be reached by metro in a few minutes with free buses.

Navigation in all airport terminals is very thoughtful, so it will be difficult to get lost here. And the baggage handling system here is one of the most productive in the world!

Dubai International Airport, which is recognized as the world’s busiest air hub in terms of the number of international flights, is located 5 km from the administrative center of the emirate. Therefore, tourists arriving in the UAE are wondering how to get from Dubai airport?

Guests of the United Arab Emirates can use several methods of transportation:

underground;

city buses;

taxi;

rented cars.

Each of these methods has its own nuances, which must be taken into account when visiting this wonderful city.

How to get from the airport by bus?

City buses are the cheapest transfer option, but they are mostly used by locals. Most of the routes run along the highway and streets, along which there are numerous hotels and hotels.

You can leave the airport from one of the bus stops , which are located opposite each of the three terminals of the international airport:

The F55 bus route runs near 80 major hotels and hotels, and also reaches the Ibn Battuta metro station. The movement of transport is carried out every hour, the first departure from the airport is at 5:50, the last one is at 00:00 local time. However, there are traffic nuances: on Thursday this bus starts at 5:30 and ends at 01:00, on Friday – from 13:00 to 01:00 at night.

Route 401 departs only from term 1 of the international airport. The end point is the Deira region. The traffic interval is every 30 minutes.

Route 402 departs from Terminal 1. Open daily from 7:30 to 23:10. There are 31 stops along the route, which the bus overcomes in 60 minutes.

Buses number 2, 4, 11A, 15, 32C, 33, 55, etc. depart from the airport. The approximate cost is 3-8 AED. To travel by bus, you need to get a Nol card, which should be applied when entering and exiting the transport. Travel is not possible without this transport card.

How to get from Dubai airport by metro?

There are 2 subway stations on the territory of the international airport: “Airport Terminal 1” and “Airport Terminal 3” , located in terminals No. 1 and No. 3.
The operating hours of the subway vary depending on the day of the week. So, from Monday to Wednesday, the train leaves at 5:30 and works until 00:00 at night. On Friday – from 5:30 to 01:00 at night. On Friday, the transport time is reduced, the first train leaves at 10:00, the last at 01:00.
The fare is paid using the Nol transport card.

The NOL transport card can be purchased at special vending machines at the airport. Its cost starts from 2 UAE dirhams, which is only 0.50 cents from the US dollar. After the purchase, it is better to immediately replenish the account on the card. You can also get unlimited public transport for 24 hours for AED 20. In general, when buying a card in a machine, you can choose the appropriate option.

To make it easier to navigate, look at the Dubai metro map. There are only 2 branches, so it’s hard to get lost.

How to get there by taxi?

The UAE in this case is no different from other countries. There are several types of taxis:

taxis run by local residents;

official transfer from the airport.

Many tourists do not speak foreign languages, so local taxi drivers can cash in on inflated fares. we recommend that you contact trusted companies offering transfer services from Dubai airport to the city center or to other emirates.

One of the most advantageous offers is a trip through the Kiwitaxi service . Tourists can order a transfer in advance: the car will be delivered right on time, so you don’t have to wait at the airport, but you can immediately go to the hotel.

Back in 2016, the airport purchased and installed over 6,000 hotspots!

How to Connect Wi-Fi at Dubai Airport

Open the list of available Wi-Fi networks on your device

Find a DXB Free WiFi network and connect to it

Open a browser and click Get online now

It doesn’t get easier! The airport administration reported that the channel size is 5 Gb / s. Which, in principle, is enough to work on the Internet.

Most tourists note the stable operation of Wi-Fi, although there is information that in some places of the airport the signal is not so strong and there may be problems.

Please write in the comments about your experience of using free internet at Dubai Airport.

Duty Free shopping areas at Dubai Airport are available in all passenger terminals. So, there will be no problems with shopping at the airport. Moreover, the local duty-free zone is recognized as the largest in the world.

The total area of retail space at Dubai Airport is more than 15,000 square meters. meters! Duty Free shops are found everywhere here: in the check-in areas, arrivals and, most of all, of course, in the departure areas.

Duty Free at Dubai Airport – what is better to buy

Needless to say, here you can buy almost anything you want? There are shops for every taste: alcohol, perfumes, jewelry, watches, accessories, bags, clothing, electronics, food, health products and more.

US dollars, euros and dirhams are accepted as payment. Everywhere you can pay both in cash and with a plastic card.

In the second half of December, the most grandiose sale starts in Dubai Duty Free . At this time, even luxury items can be bought here with huge discounts. The rest of the time, sales are also held, but they are not of a massive nature.

Perfumery

This is the most popular segment of the goods sold here. The share of perfume sales is 17% of the rest of the products sold. I must say that buying it in duty free is really more profitable than in shopping centers in the city. Well, of course, here you will find all the most popular and not so popular perfume brands. And if you’re lucky enough to get discounts, you can stock up on eau de toilette and perfume for the whole year ahead!

Alcohol

Not inferior in sales of perfumes. And, taking into account the prohibitions on the sale of alcohol, Dutyk Dubai, the place where you should buy alcohol is a must. After all, outside the airport, this will be a problem.

In terms of assortment, too, there is almost everything. Therefore, upon arrival, it is worth taking the time to buy your favorite drinks.

Watches, jewelry, accessories, leather goods

Another group of goods that is in particular demand among tourists. And the thing is that here you can absolutely not worry about the quality of goods and the authenticity of products. Everything comes with a manufacturer’s warranty and certificates.

Electronics

The choice of the latest electronics is also huge here. And the prices are lower than Russian ones. However, before buying gadgets at the Dubai airport, it is worth comparing the prices for them in the shopping centers of the city. This is, of course, if you visit Dubai itself.

Here are the websites of major electronics sellers in Dubai: Sharaf DG and Jumbo Electronics .

Duty Free in Dubai – online product catalog

Yes, an online Duty Free store has been open since 2014, where you can easily pick up the product you are interested in and order it long before your arrival.

It is convenient to do this when you do not have much time for a transfer, before departure or upon arrival. In this case, you order the goods on the site, and pick up and pay for it already at the specified place.

Raffle cars and lotteries in Duty free Dubai

Another cool topic in the local Dutik is lotteries and drawings. Moreover, anyone can participate. You just need to buy a ticket at one of the lottery counters.

Millennium Millionaire is one of the coolest duty free lotteries. Every 2-3 weeks, 1 million dollars is raffled off. The winner is chosen from among 5,000 others. That is, 5,000 tickets are sold and a draw is held. By the way, tickets can also be bought online on the Duty Free website www.dubaidutyfree.com. True, 1 ticket costs 278 US dollars.

Finest Surprise – Luxury Cars is a lottery where you can win luxury cars. The drawing is held from 1300 tickets. One ticket costs $139.

Finest Surprise – Motorbikes – another lottery, but with a motorcycle raffle. Here the ticket costs $28, and the draw is held among 1000 tickets sold.

Transit Rules

Transit travelers can take advantage of a number of services specifically designed for this category of tourists. In order to get into the transit zone, you just need to follow the signs “Transit”. If you need to collect your luggage, you should go to the Baggage hall and then go through immigration and customs. Then you need to go to the departure area of the correct terminal for the airline with which the passenger is traveling. The transition between any two terminals in the building will not take more than 20 minutes, as all three terminals are next to each other.

A UAE transit visa will not be required if the passenger is at the airport for four hours or less. For those who stay in the transit zone, there are various options, depending on how much time the passenger has left.

The airline from which the tickets are booked must be able to arrange a transit visa for travel. It is important to check this information with your airline in advance. A transit visa is valid for 14 days from arrival in the UAE. If this country is a third country, then it is important to confirm your flight with the availability of air tickets. The foreign passport must be valid for at least 6 months. If the air passenger has European citizenship, then he can obtain a visa for 30 days upon arrival. Citizens of the following countries are not eligible for a transit visa on arrival: Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Niger and Yemen.

Airport Hotels

To spend hours waiting for a connecting flight in maximum comfort, you can use the services of hotels. One of them – the five-star Aerotel Abu Dhabi Terminal 1 – is located right in the terminal building in the first terminal. Prices for luxury rooms with all amenities start from 9,600 rubles. There is a swimming pool, golf course and power shower. Do not be afraid to oversleep your flight, a special service will wake you up at exactly the appointed time.

Another Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport 3 * hotel is located near Skypark car rental. It can be accessed via corridors from terminals 1 and 3. Air-conditioned rooms with bathrooms and showers, TV and free internet. You can work out at the gym, grab a bite to eat at the 24-hour restaurant and swim in the rooftop pool while taking in stunning city views. The free hotel shuttle will take you to the main attractions of the capital and to the famous Yas Island, where Ferrari World park, Yas WaterWorld water park and shopping center are located.

Transfer by taxi from Al Maktoum airport is convenient because you can get not only to the center of Dubai, but also to other cities in the UAE – Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah. City taxi cars are waiting for passengers at the exit from the arrivals area 24/7. There are cream-coloured cars with male drivers and pink-roofed taxis driven by women. Pink taxis can be used by women or families.

All taxis must be equipped with meters and air conditioning. Only now, local taxi drivers get impudent and often do not turn on the meter, and upon arrival at their destination, they demand an insane amount from passengers. Therefore, you should always carefully monitor that the counter is turned on. In a taxi at the airport there is a system of surcharges – for landing at the airport (25 AED), for the passage of several passengers and luggage, for an hour of waiting (30 AED).

There are well-known online taxi services in Dubai – Careem and Uber. However, due to the remoteness of Al Maktoum Airport from the center of Dubai, the fare for them will not be much cheaper.

As an alternative to a local taxi, you can book a transfer in advance online through a popular service with good reviews . When ordering a taxi through this service, the final cost of the trip includes 1 hour of waiting in case of a delay in your flight, a meeting with a sign in the arrivals area. The driver will not require any additional payments from you and will take you to the hotel along the optimal route without winding circles.

Express bus number F55 (without intermediate stops) is the only form of public transport from Al Maktoum Airport to Dubai. Bus number F55: every 30 minutes from 06:00 to 22:00, luggage is free.

To find the bus upon arrival at the airport, after going through passport control and claiming your luggage, follow the Public Bus signs to the airport exit. Having reached the final bus – the bus station Ibn Battuta Station, you can switch to the metro (red line) and get to the station you need. The total travel time by bus + metro to the door of your hotel will be at least 1.5-2 hours. The main tourist areas of Dubai – Bur Khalifa and Jumeirah – are located along the red line. If necessary, the Red Line Metro provides direct access from Ibn Battuta Station to Dubai International Airport directly from the Ibn Battuta Station.

At night – from 22:00 to 05:00 there is a night bus. It follows the Al Ghubaiba metro station, passing along the coast and the beaches of Madinat, Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab.
