Weather in Fujairah Weather

Fujairah is one of the most picturesque emirates of the UAE: the mountains that come almost right up to the water, the magnificent Gulf of Oman, the luxurious beaches, the unique oriental flavor. The emirate is often favored for recreation by locals who are attracted by the more relaxed, measured rest and the absence of crowds of tourists.

Fujairah has a milder climate due to the Hajar mountain range, but summers in this region are still very hot, so the best time to visit the emirate is autumn and spring – the weather in these months is the most comfortable and the water temperature in the Gulf is quite high.

There are not as many hotels in Fujairah as in Dubai or Sharjah, and five-star hotels can be counted on one hand. But there are plenty of budget accommodation options. The capital of the emirate, Fujairah, looks like a small resort town, not like a city of the future – here the bright wide streets, green embankment, lack of noisy entertainment. This is why families with children often choose Fujairah.

The coastline of the Emirate – about 90 km, and almost all of it consists of hotel beaches. These beaches can boast perfect cleanliness, clear water and light sand, as well as appropriate infrastructure (beach bars, sun loungers, umbrellas, water activities). On some beaches you can find freshwater pools designed for children. There are also public beaches in Fujairah – but, alas, they are often visited directly by cars and littered.

Diving, snorkeling, and boat trips are some of the resort’s main activities. The Gulf of Oman is famous for its picturesque corals, dolphins and giant turtles often swim ashore, and the wreck of a ship can be found not far from the shores of Al Aqa beach.

The main attraction of the emirate is the fortress El Heyl, built back in the 17th century. A huge fort with loopholes, watchtowers and amazing interiors, it seems to float in the air – the hill, on which the castle is built, creates the illusion that El Heyl does not touch the ground.

Other local attractions include the beautiful Ain Al Madhab Gardens at the foot of the mountains, the Al Badia Mosque (the oldest operating mosque in the country) and the Wadi Wuraia National Park.

Shopping in Fujairah is not as brisk as in Dubai: the emirate’s shopping malls are not as crowded and bustling, and there is less choice. But like all of the UAE’s biggest cities, on hot summer days the local shopping malls are the perfect place to spend a good time.
