Lunch and dinner at height (in the sky), Dubai: price, reviews

While on vacation in Dubai, it is unusual to dine in a variety of ways. For example, go on a safari and taste the dishes prepared by the Bedouins. Or buy a cruise on a yacht or a dhow boat to eat deliciously, admire the sights in the evening lights, and appreciate local talents during the show. But many tourists recognize lunch or dinner at a height in Dubai as the most original option, when the dining table literally soars in the sky.

About how such a dinner is held and how much it costs – we will definitely tell you further. We will give useful links to online ordering of a “high-altitude” meal, see the composition of the menu and read reviews about dinner at a height in Dubai. It is they who will help to understand who will definitely like this event, whether problems arise during an unusual feast and whether it is worth paying for such an extreme experience.

Where to order a high-altitude dinner in Dubai

We cannot guarantee that an original dinner in the sky will be offered to you on the spot. But even if they offer, there are high risks of overpaying, especially if your own tour operator offers you a tour. It’s better to book a tour with a direct organizer, using the good old Internet. And of all the online aggregators, we recommend GetYourGuide – an international portal that presents excursions in all corners of the planet.

We have no doubts about the reliability of GetYourGuide. Many times personally bought various excursions on it. There were never any problems. The prices are adequate (and often there are good discounts). Organizers are client-oriented. Tours are interesting and varied. By the way, if you are afraid of heights, then using the link above, you can choose another version of the original dinner in Dubai.

How much is dinner in Dubai sky

It is important to understand that dinner in the sky is not a budget pleasure. Each participant will have to pay $199. Afternoon tea will cost a little less – $ 142 per nose. The cost is quite justified, because, in fact, an attraction is organized for guests with the help of a tower crane, they provide security, and they also feed tasty and satisfying. During dinner in the sky – not just snacks and sweets, but cooked right there in the sky, full-fledged hot dishes of meat or fish. Of course, for this money you can go on a safari 4 times and dine in the desert. So decide for yourself whether the impressions of dinner in the sky will pay off with such expenses.

Dinner at the height in Dubai – description of the program

A tower crane lifts a specially designed table to a height of 50 meters. During such a dinner, you will be able to view the panoramas of Dubai with the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Burj Al Arab, as well as take amazing pictures on your smartphone or camera. Video recording, by the way, is also not prohibited. So that there are no surprises, the table raised into the sky rotates slightly during dinner. So don’t be scared.
In front of your eyes, the chef will prepare 3 dishes for each guest: stewed beef cheeks, fried cod in miso marinade and sous chicken breast. From drinks – fresh juice, soda, coffee or tea. Dinner in the sky of Dubai is held three times a day – at 18.30, 20.00 and 21.30. Duration – one and a half hours. There are restrictions – participants must be over 8 years old, above 120 cm and lighter than 150 kg.

Price: $199 per person. Number of participants: up to 22 people.

Dinner in the sky in Dubai – description of the program

In the Russian sense, the food offered in this tour can hardly be called a full meal. There will be no borsch, no three dozen dumplings, or even compote at the table. Rather, the organizer offers a light snack of cold sandwiches and cakes with freshly squeezed juices, coffee or tea. But lunch in the sky of Dubai is bought not for a hearty meal, but for an unforgettable experience. And you will definitely appreciate the lunch-tea drinking at a table hanging at a 50-meter height in the company of the same adrenaline fans and fearless conquerors of heights. The restrictions are the same as in the previous program. The attraction is held once a day – at 17.00. Duration – 85 minutes.

Price: $142 per person. Number of participants: up to 22 people.

Reviews of dinner at a height in Dubai

So that dinner at a height in Dubai does not disappoint, we carefully study the reviews for each tour. Is it in vain that tourists try, share their impressions, give advice and pay attention to shortcomings?! We were worried about safety, but the reviews reassured us. None of the tourists wrote about non-working seat belts, a loose chair, or plates that flew to the ground. The distance between those sitting is enough to eat without pushing their elbows and calmly take pictures or shoot videos.

Almost all the participants of the dinner at a height in Dubai appreciated the well-trained staff, ready to support the camera and take a picture, if necessary, and answer questions. Some tourists noticed that the slow rotation of the table does not bother. You notice this “chip” only because the view around is changing. And for the vast majority, it was dinner in the sky of Dubai, despite the high cost, that became the main event of the vacation.

Man has always dreamed of flying above the Earth to look from above – how beautiful it is, and we offer you to make this trip by helicopter to see for yourself how magnificent the city of Dubai is.

The most dynamically developing metropolis of Arabia, having a lack of free land on the coast, began to build man-made islands, increasing the territory of the beaches, and in place of the endless sands, artificial sea channels appeared and lakes with fresh water were created.

An aerial tour will allow you to compare old and new Dubai, its past and present, to see the contrast between West and East, to appreciate the real scale of artificial islands and high-rise construction from a height, to admire the grandiose Burj Khalifa tower and the hallmark of the emirate – the Burj El Arab sail hotel.

Where to book a helicopter flight over Dubai

Instead of going to travel agencies or buying the first tour that came across from street barkers, we recommend using an alternative – buy a helicopter flight over Dubai online with feeling, sense and arrangement. And of all the portals, the GetYourGuide online platforms make the most cost-effective and diverse offers for tourists . On them you can safely compare conditions, read reviews and book what is perfect for you.

And there are plenty to choose from on GetYourGuide and Sputnik. Need a short helicopter ride in Dubai for 12 or 17 minutes flying over the main attractions? Please! Want to fly a helicopter longer? Book the program for 22 minutes. Do you have funds and time? Then embark on a multi-hour journey that includes a helicopter tour in Dubai complemented by a jeep safari through the Arabian Desert or a river cruise on a traditional Arabian dhow with a sumptuous dinner.

ON A NOTE! By the way, you can order a helicopter in Dubai through Uber. Open the app, select “helicopter” (chopper) in the vehicle class, and then order one of the two available options. Or a round-trip flight from Dubai to Abu Dhabi for $614. Or a 15-minute helicopter tour in Dubai for $177 (per seat). You will be taken to the helipad by a regular Uber taxi for an additional fee.

TOP 3 helicopter rides over Dubai

Surely you have highlighted dozens of bird’s-eye photos of the United Arab Emirates, so you are unlikely to miss the opportunity to take to the skies and see the high-tech architecture of Dubai for yourself. A helicopter ride in Dubai is popular with tourists not only because of the opportunity to view and take pictures of “visiting” locations from a height, but because of the ardent desire to get an unforgettable experience of helicopter rides. And a helicopter flight over Dubai will definitely not disappoint, especially if you choose one of the tours that we will discuss below.

“Combo: Helicopter flight, jeep desert safari and dinner in a Bedouin village”
Fifteen minutes you will soar over the Arabian Gulf, Palm Island and Burj Al Arab, and then circle over Commonwealth Square, Sheikh Zayed Road and Burj Khalifa. Complete your Arabian desert jeep safari experience to a Bedouin village with dinner, camel riding, belly dancing, hookah, henna painting, falconry.

Tour price – from $ 220 per tourist . Round trip safari transfer from hotel, lunch and water included.

Dubai Helicopter City Tour
This is the cheapest and therefore the most popular helicopter tour in Dubai. From above you will see Atlantis Palm, Golden Mile, Burj Al Arab, fly over the World Islands and the Persian Gulf. You can book a flight for 12 minutes without a hotel transfer, as well as for 15 or 25 minutes with a transfer. The organizer provides a 10% discount on the photo as a bonus.

Flight price – from $ 180 each .

“Helicopter Tour + Romantic Desert Dinner”
A twelve-minute helicopter flight over Dubai with an inspection of iconic locations will smoothly flow into a jeep safari through the desert dunes. This will be followed by a wonderful romantic dinner at a premium campsite with national dishes, soft drinks and barbecue. The price also includes transfer from the hotel and back.

Tour price – $ 300 per guest .

What is allowed during the tour

To register, you must take an identity card or a copy of it.

During the flight over Dubai, you can shoot on your phone and camera. You will also have some time to take photos on the helipad.

The tour is allowed for people aged 2 to 99 years.

What is prohibited during a helicopter flight over Dubai

Tablets and selfie sticks are not allowed. Also, a helicopter tour is not recommended for pregnant women and people with disabilities.

The camera or camera lens must have a focal length of at least 400mm. As a rule, this does not apply to ordinary smartphones (we had a Samsung and an iPhone and there were no problems or comments).

Architecture

The construction of the mosque lasted from 1996 to 2007 by 3,000 workers, designed by the Syrian architect Yousef Abdelka. The natural materials that were used to build and decorate the mosque have natural beauty and durability – marble stone, gold, semi-precious stones, crystals and ceramics. They were brought from many countries, including India, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, China, Great Britain, New Zealand, Macedonia and the United Arab Emirates.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque is impossible not to see when entering Abu Dhabi. It is visible from all 3 road bridges connecting the island, on which the capital of the United Arab Emirates stands, with the mainland. The beautiful mosque shines with white Macedonian marble from afar. It is crowned with 82 domes, the largest of which is located above the main prayer hall. The building of the mosque has as many as 4 minarets (towers from which believers are called to prayer) each 106 meters high. They combine several different shapes and styles – the Moroccan-style square base, the Mameluka-era octagonal shape, and the Ottoman-era cylindrical shape. It is in one of the minarets that the library is located – the only one in the world located in such a place.

The galleries of the mosque are decorated with 1096 columns, which are instructed in a special Italian technique of the 16th century with precious and semi-precious stones – lapis lazuli, red agate, amethyst and mother-of-pearl. Around sparkling pools, the total area of which is 7874 square meters. Their bottom is lined with all shades of blue, and the white walls and columns of the mosque are reflected in the mirror water.

The 17,400 square meter courtyard is lined with marble mosaics and can accommodate up to 31,000 worshipers. It is believed that the marble mosaic is one of the largest in the world. The evening illumination of the mosque is amazing in its uniqueness – it changes every day, corresponding to the lunar cycle, from imitation of dark gray-blue clouds to bright moonlight.

Prayer hall

In the main prayer hall, there is an amazing 5,700 square meter carpet weighing 35 tons, which is considered the largest handmade carpet in the world. For about 2 years, 1200 craftsmen worked on its creation – for about 8 months the project and design were developed, for about 12 months work was carried out on the creation of individual canvases, after which for several months individual fragments were delivered to the mosque and woven together. The composition of the unique carpet is 70% wool and 30% cotton.

Here, in the main hall, there is a beautiful crystal chandelier weighing about 12 tons, made by the German master Faustig, which is considered one of the largest in the world. Its height is 15 meters and its diameter is 10 meters.

Nearby hang 2 copies of a smaller size weighing 8 tons each. A 2-ton copy hangs in the hall. In total, there are 7 crystal chandeliers made by the German master. All of them are made of steel and tin, covered with 40 kilograms of 24 carat gold. The design also featured glass panels with Swarovski crystals.

If you’re coming from Abu Dhabi Bus Station (Main Bus Station), buses 32, 44, and 54 will be fine. The stop is Zayed Mosque. You can also get there by cab (pretty fast) or private car. There are no shuttles between the mosque and the train station, so you need to think about getting there on your own.

On your own

You can order a cab, also in case you go by car, you can park in the southern part of the temple in a special free parking lot.

From Abu Dhabi you can take a cab, which is the official one in Abu Dhabi and has the same name.

Both an Uber and a trip with a navigator will easily get you to the mosque. By the way its coordinates are: 24.412604, 54.475340.

If you live in Dubai, you can use car rental (if you have any plans to visit the sights on your own), cab (which will be quite expensive, since the road from Dubai to Abu Dhabi is about 140 km) or take an individual or group tour.

Building

Perhaps the building of the Louvre Abu Dhabi is even more interesting than the exposition inside. The building is made in the form of a dome with a diameter of 180 meters. This is not even one building, but a complex of 55 separate buildings, which are covered with a dome.

This dome is made of 8 layers of structures with honeycombs of different sizes and at different angles. Four outer layers are made of steel, four inner layers are made of aluminum. The distance between layers is 5 meters. The dome rests on 4 pillars that are hidden in the buildings, so it seems that the dome is floating.

The geometry of the dome is designed so that light penetrates through all 8 layers in 7850 places. These places are called “stars”. During the day, the effect of “rain of light” is formed inside. At night, the light from the inside comes out, and the “stars” can be seen from the outside of the building.

The dome impresses not only as a masterpiece of architectural thought, but also with its size. Diameter – 180 meters, height at the central point – 29 meters from the first floor to the ceiling. The mass of the structure is 7500 tons, which is 200 tons more than that of the Eiffel Tower. It took 10 years for all stages of construction (from 2007 to 2017).

You need to come to the Louvre Abu Dhabi just to look at this masterpiece.

Exposition

She is not big. There are about 200 works of art that were purchased for the museum by the government of Abu Dhabi and about 300 more were taken on bail from the Louvre in Paris. In addition, works by local authors are exhibited.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum is small, the total exhibition area is only 8,000 sq.m. For comparison, the exposition area of the Tretyakov Gallery is 80,000 sq.m., the Hermitage – 67,000 sq.m.

In 2017, the Louvre Abu Dhabi bought Leonardo da Vinci’s The Savior of the World for a record $450.3 million. But no one has seen the painting since the auction.

But here is exhibited another painting by Leonardo “Beautiful Ferroniera”. See photo next, click on photo to enlarge.

Also exhibited are several works by Henri Matisse, Vincent van Gogh’s Self-Portrait, Jacques-Louis David’s Bonaparte at the Saint-Bernard Pass, Claude Monet’s Gare Saint-Lazare, and Pablo Picasso’s Portrait of a Woman.

As in the Louvre in Paris, there are many works of ancient art. However, not a single era of the development of art, not a single region, not a single style is shown in a comprehensive manner.

The exposition is based on the principle “About everything, but about nothing”. Why did it happen?

Let’s answer in simple words. Sheikhs of the United Arab Emirates are very smart and prudent people. They effectively invest oil money, and the art world is one of the important areas of their financial investments. And the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a repository of their investments, on which you can also earn some money by letting visitors come here.

Naturally, with this approach, the exposition turned out to be very chaotic. No one pursued the goal of showing visitors any complex epoch in the history of art.

It is quite possible that in the future the sheikhs will buy even more paintings and statues, and then the exposition will acquire the integrity of its parts. There is still a lot of space for these future acquisitions under the dome. Of the 23 galleries, only 13 are currently occupied.

But so far the exposition can be called “moderately interesting”. You can and should look, but there are few reasons for admiration.

How much did the Louvre Abu Dhabi cost

The building cost an estimated $715 million.

For the right to call the museum “Louvre” paid 400 million euros.

Another $750 million was paid as a deposit for works from the Louvre in Paris.

How much did you spend on buying works for the museum? This is a big secret. After all, only part of the works was bought at open auctions, the other part was bought by private transactions. And even at auctions, sheikhs often bought works on behalf of others. One can only guess about the exact figure, most often the figure is 1 billion dollars.

Where is it located and how to get there

If you are relaxing in the emirate Dubai , then first you need to get to Abu Dhabi.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum is located on Saadiyat Island, north of the main part of the city. Abu Dhabi has made an interesting geographical division: Saadiyat Island has been designated for museums, culture and arts, and Yas Island for amusement parks.

There are several ways to get there.

The first option is by taxi. The price of the trip can be from 12 to 80 dirhams, depending on where you go from.

The second option is a bus. There is only one bus to the Louvre in Abu Dhabi – this is route 94. This bus goes from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque through Zayed Sport City, the bus station, to the embankment and north to the Louvre. If this bus stops somewhere near your hotel, then use it.

The fare is 2 dirhams, payment by Hafilat transport card. The interval of movement is 30 minutes, opening hours are from 7 am to 11 pm.

Since bus 94 runs between the Louvre and the Grand Mosque, it is convenient to see these sights in one day. However, remember that the hall of the Grand Mosque is open to non-Muslim tourists only between the morning and afternoon prayers. Therefore, it is better to see the mosque in the morning, and the Louvre after. For details on the mosque’s opening hours, see our Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque article .

The third option is with a tour. Usually we do not recommend excursions to our readers for the reason that they always give too little time at the sights. But the Louvre Abu Dhabi was an exception, we recommend a tour here. The museum is small, only 8000 sq.m., and you will definitely have time to go around it during the tour, do not miss anything important.

They hardly arrange separate excursions to the Louvre, but a visit is included in many sightseeing tours of Abu Dhabi, which you can go not only from hotels in Abu Dhabi, but also from Dubai, Sharjah , Ajman , Umm al-Qaiwain .

From Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah , such excursions are also arranged, but get ready for a very early departure from the hotel and a late return back. The price of the tour is from 80 to 130 dollars, depending on the emirate in which you are relaxing.

Ticket price

Further all prices include VAT (VAT).

For visitors 18 years and older – 63 dirhams.

For visitors under 18 years old – free of charge.

Attention! Tickets can now only be bought online, best of all on the official website www.louvreabudhabi.ae. Cashiers are closed. The next block of information is temporarily out of date, do not read, scroll further.

Tickets can be bought in advance on the official website louvreabudhabi.ae, but there is not much point in this, as it will not be cheaper.

However, if you are going to come on a weekend, then it makes sense to buy tickets on the website in advance so as not to stand in line at the box office.

Periodically, the Louvre Abu Dhabi releases promotional codes for 8% discount on tickets. At the time of updating this article (2022), the promo code is “LOUVREABD”. If it doesn’t work, look for a new promo code on English-language coupon sites.

Opening hours

Monday is a day off.

On other days – from 10-00 to 18-30. Last entry at 17:30.

Attention! At 18-30 all visitors are required to leave the premises, as disinfection begins.

Description of the tour

We invite you to appreciate the view from The View at The Palm, the newest attraction in Dubai. You can admire the surroundings with the help of stationary binoculars, in which you will consider the man-made island of Palm Jumeirah and the well-known Atlantis hotel.

Visit the newest observation platform The View at The Palm at an altitude of 240 meters. A 360° panoramic view will allow you to enjoy a unique view of the man-made miracle – the Palm Jumeirah, the popular Dubai Marina and the world’s largest Ferris wheel, as well as the Dubai waterfront – Jumeirah with its legendary symbol of Burj Al Arab.

In addition to the observation deck, you will visit an immersive theater as well as an interactive exhibition that will help you immerse yourself in an incredible atmosphere and feel the spirit of creativity and ingenuity of the creators of the famous Dubai wonders.

Infrastructure

The site is located at an altitude of 240 meters, from the picture that appears before the eyes of many visitors, it literally takes their breath away. However, it is worth coming here not only for the sake of beautiful landscapes and stunning pictures. The organizers tried to think over the infrastructure in order to immerse visitors in the world of Palm Jumeirah itself – the history of its creation, the originality of the project, the variety of its architectural solutions and entertainment opportunities.

On the way to the site, you need to go through a tunnel with an interactive aquarium. It delights not only children, but also adults, already setting them up for an unusual spectacle that lies ahead. Then visitors enter a room with a luminous floor, the outlines of the island on which they are gradually emerging on it. A pleasant surprise – everyone can virtually participate in the construction of the island thanks to special effects. You need to stand with your feet on a certain illuminated area and follow the crumbling sand, from which the shape of the island in the form of a palm tree looms.

The next location on the way to the site will be a spacious hall, which shows a short film about the construction of the Palm Jumeirah. Next you need to go to a small museum with stands and exhibits that allow you to trace the stages of construction and development of the island. Its creation is connected with the need to expand the coastline of Dubai for the development of tourism.

Construction work began in 2001, the originality of the man-made island in its shape. If you look at it from a height, you can see that its silhouette looks like a palm tree – it has a trunk and 16 branches-leaves (8 on each side). To protect the island from storms, a crescent-shaped breakwater was invented, stretching for 11 km. During the construction, it was possible to do without reinforced concrete structures, sand and stones served as the material. The museum presents the equipment with which the work was carried out, in particular vibrators used to compact sand.

Work was completed in 2006, then gradual development began on the island. Now it is replete with a huge number of hotels, skyscrapers, luxury villas, shopping and entertainment centers, beach clubs. To revitalize the stone jungle, green areas with parks were created. It is connected with the mainland by a bridge, a half-moon breakwater is connected to the top of a palm tree through an underwater tunnel.

Impressed by the boldness of the project and the professionalism of its implementation, you can move on to the main attraction – the observation deck itself with a 360-degree view. From it you can appreciate the original shape of the island, its components, consider the most large-scale buildings and at the same time survey the surroundings. The site has an open area with glass railings, pleasant background music plays here. To view individual objects in more detail, you can use stationary binoculars.

The food zone of the water park is represented by many cafes and restaurants that offer drinks and snacks, as well as Indian, Thai, Korean and other cuisines of the world. Bringing food and drinks into the water park is prohibited.

For the convenience of guests, the water park has a shopping area where you can buy souvenirs, beachwear and the necessary sun protection. In addition, you can hide from the hot sun in the shady alleys of the water park, planted with date palms and tropical plants.

Aquaventure Waterpark Slides

Aquaventure Water Park has dozens of slides and water rides that will appeal to visitors of all ages. A distinctive feature of its structure is the ability to conquer hill after hill without leaving the aqua zone. Along the perimeter of the water park of the Atlantis Hotel there is an exciting attraction “Mountain River” , where you can not only ride along the river rapids, but also explore the park. The length of the river is about 2 kilometers.

The most extreme slides of the water park originate from two towers – “Neptune” and “Poseidon” , which are built in the form of ancient pyramids with several levels.

Poseidon Tower includes themed water slides of different heights and lengths. Entrance to the attractions of the tower is allowed for persons over 1.2 m tall.

The longest slide of the tower is “Aquaconda” , which, like a snake, is winding and unpredictable. This is the longest water park slide and is considered the largest in the world. Its length is 210, and its width is 9 meters. The descent along it is carried out on inflatable rafts, designed for 6 people. At high speed, streams of water carry people down from a height of 25 meters. This adventure is one of the most extreme and consists of going through several types of tunnels.

The Zumerango waterslide is another way to tickle your nerves and try to break the laws of gravity. The raft for several people then falls, then flies up the hill, at some point breaking away from the surface, giving delight and adrenaline. The length of the slide is 156 meters, and the height of the site (and the reference point for free fall) is all 14 meters.

For those who have not yet conquered the elements of the sea, the real “Poseidon’s Revenge” awaits . This is almost a vertical capsule, where a person enters, suddenly the floor under him falls through, and he flies, carried away by streams of water, down at a speed of up to 60 km per hour. In the finale, the dive takes place in the pool, but due to the speed of the descent, it is no less fast and exciting. The water attraction “Slytherin” is unique.– double descent, which has no analogues in the world at present. This is a slide, going down the steep bends of which, you can compete with friends in speed. To do this, special scoreboards with data are installed at the finish line, which enhance the spirit of the competition. Slytherin partly passes through the Aquaconda slide, interspersed with it, as a result of which you can combine two attractions and visit the inside of a giant anaconda.

The Neptune Tower is not inferior to the extremeness and variety of its attractions. Not everyone will decide to descend them, therefore, just like the Poseidon Tower, only persons over 1.2 m tall are allowed to climb here.

In front of the Neptune Tower there is a pool with sharks and giant rays, and its attractions are associated with it. The waterslide “Attack of the Sharks” takes visitors deep into the tower, descends from a height of almost 30 meters, and then passes along the bottom of the pool with marine life. The tube of the slide is transparent, so you can see how a shark or a stingray swims overhead. You can go down the hill alone or as a couple.

The most extreme slide of the entire water park is also located on the Neptune tower and is called “Jump into the Unknown” . This is an almost vertical descent from the height of a house of 9 floors, which passes in a matter of seconds and ends in the same transparent pipe, surrounded by sharks and huge rays. The descent is possible only single, without a raft.

There is also a less extreme, but also exciting attraction – a system of water slides with an unusual structure, which allows you to first lift a person up with the help of water flows, and then lower them down at high speed. The path involves several zones – dark tunnels, steep turns, overcoming which a person will find himself in the middle of a calm river.

You can relax from extreme sports in one of the many pools of the Aquaventure water park, which are designed for visitors of any age and height. The depth in them increases gradually. There is also a swimming pool for adults, located opposite the natural reservoir and the beach. It is pleasant to relax and swim in it both before and after visiting the attractions. In addition to the usual ones, there is also The Torrent pool, where you can enjoy tidal waves, the height of which sometimes reaches 1 meter.

The water park has a unique recreation area and a private beach over 700 meters long. This is a clear sea, golden sand and peace, a rest from active entertainment, surrounded by the sound of waves and palm trees. In addition, this is the only beach in Dubai that is closed and accessible only to visitors to the water park.

For children , the Aquaventure Water Park is equipped with a whole entertainment complex Splashers , where the smallest visitors and older guests will feel comfortable. Entrance here is allowed for children under 1.2 meters tall, accompanied by their parents. Attractions allow you to involve the whole family, but the emphasis is on children, to whom the play area offers 14 types of slides of different difficulty levels ( “Cyclone”, “Wave”, “Flash” , etc.). The complex also includes a rope zone where children can feel like pioneers and climbers, numerous water attractions and surprises in the form of regularly overturning vats of water and suddenly turning on jet fountains.

In April 2018, the opening of a new play complex “Island of Splashers” , focused on the youngest guests, took place. But, as in the main complex, the whole family can relax here: while the children master the shallow pool and 7 water slides descending into it, parents can relax under umbrellas or take sunbaths lying on sun loungers.

The location of all attractions can be seen on the detailed map of the resort and water park Atlantis.

Entertainment with animals

In addition to a wide range of rides and slides, Aquaventure Waterpark offers visitors a unique opportunity to see, observe and feed marine life.

The most popular attraction is Shark Safari , which, despite its ominous name, is quite safe and suitable for all visitors from 8 years old. But children under 16 are only allowed if accompanied by an adult. This is a unique opportunity to dive into a reservoir with marine life without scuba gear, but in a special helmet that creates an air pocket and allows you to breathe while a person walks along the bottom of the reservoir surrounded by fish. There is a detailed briefing before the dive. Programs run daily, but it is advisable to sign up in advance.

Feeding the bull rays is an equally popular entertainment offered by the water park, and the only one in Dubai. Stingrays live in the same reservoir, in shallow water. Children from 6 years old can participate in feeding every day. Under 16s accompanied by parents.

Also on the territory of the Atlantis hotel is the Dolphin Bay dolphinarium , a ticket to which is purchased separately, but includes the possibility of visiting the Aquaventure water park and the beach within one day. Detailed information about programs and tariffs is on the official website of the Dolphinarium .

Ticket prices: how to save

You can buy a ticket more advantageously in advance on the official website of Atlantis. You can also buy at the box office at the entrance, but much more expensive (365 AED at the box office, against 289 AED on the site).

If you buy a ticket on the website ten or more days before the date of your visit, the prices will be slightly discounted (approximately 10 AED). There are several rates available (price in AED) for adults (anyone above 120cm) and children (any age below 120cm):

The rental of towels and lockers for clothes is also paid separately:

I recommend buying a ticket with meals, because you need to eat something, and the prices in the water park are high. The price difference pays off in one go. Of course, food in the park is just fast food, but still. Be sure to bring water with you. It is allowed to bring up to 1 liter per guest into the water park. In the park, it is expensive – from 15 AED.

Opening hours + get to the water park

There are several ways to get to the Atlantis the Palm Water Park.

The monorail is the most interesting, but expensive way. The monorail station is located on the coast, at the very base of the Palm Jumeirah, the landmark is the T1 tram stop. If you take the metro, the nearest stations are Dubai Internet City Metro Station 2 or Nakheel Metro Station. Also, the monorail station can be reached by city buses No. 8 and 84. It will be even more convenient by bus.

Monorail trains run every 15 minutes from 9:00 to 21:45, the price of a one-way trip is 20 AED, a round-trip is 30 AED. Get off at the Atlantis terminus. To the left of the monorail terminal is the entrance to the water park.

GPS coordinates for driving: Latitude: 25.130366 (25N 7′ 49.317″), Longitude: 55.117378 (55N 7′ 2.5608″). There is free parking at the entrance to the water park.

Taxi is the most convenient and cheapest way. You can call using the mobile applications RTA or Uber Dubai .

Aquaventure Waterpark is open daily from 10am to sunset. The official closing time is 6pm, but it is rarely observed. On holidays and weekends, the water park can work up to eight.

Choose your date of visit carefully! There are too many visitors on weekends (Thursday-Friday) and holidays. The descent from the hill takes from 10 to 50 seconds, and for this time you have to stand in lines for 30-40 minutes. And so, the Aquaventure water park, despite the price, is a great place for youth to relax.

What is the La Perle show in Dubai?

The show La Perle by Dragone is fundamentally different from everything that happened in the circus and theatrical art of the world before. It is not surprising.

The director and creator of the 90-minute show was one of the most famous stage directors in the world – Franco Dragone.

La Perle by Dragone is a must-visit place to experience the otherworldly.

Franco began his career as director of the Cirque du Soleil and played a critical role in its success. Also on his track record are the Celine Dion musical show A New Day, the Le Rêve show in Las Vegas, productions at the House of Dancing Water Theater in Macau and the Paris Merveilles cabaret show at the Lido de Paris.

The show is attended by 65 artists from 23 countries. For the performance, a unique dynamic pool stage was built, where real rain can fall, a waterfall runs from the ceiling, and after 5 minutes it is already a dry area.

This show is perfect in almost everything: crazy turns on motorcycles, circus numbers, diving from 25 meters into the water, dizzying aerial acrobatics – such a variety and level of skill of the team makes La Perle a unique show of its kind, which you can safely go to with the whole family.

Schedule of performances + how to get there

The show is held twice a day (duration of each 90 minutes without intermission) five days a week:

Saturday: at 16:00 and at 19:00.

The theater is located in the Al Habtoor City complex (DownTown area), and although the red metro line passes nearby, getting to the complex is problematic. The nearest station is located one and a half kilometers behind the bridge, so it’s not a walk.

The history of the city is inextricably linked with water: pearl mining, sea piracy and, of course, trade. Modern Dubai has retained the love of water, but has become safe and convenient. Water excursions in Dubai are picturesque sea and city landscapes, an opportunity to see the city from an unusual angle and a lot of impressions.

Yacht trips

The most luxurious option for sea excursions in Dubai is a trip on a yacht . A trip on a yacht will make everyone feel like a special guest: amazing service, excellent conditions, amazing views of the city and great photos are guaranteed.

The duration of the walk is two hours. The size of the group depends on the chosen option: group (up to 30 people), mini-group, individual (up to 6 people). During the tour, you can admire the elite Marina area , see the Palm Island and the luxurious sail hotel Burj Al Arablocated on its own island near the city.

Dinner walks

For gourmets , boat trips with dinner will be a discovery . Guests will be offered dishes of Arabic and European cuisine: hot dishes, appetizers, canapes, cuts, desserts.

Such a trip is possible both on a comfortable yacht and on an unusual Arab boat (dhow). The first option is more familiar, because you can ride a yacht in other countries, and the second is unique and unusual. Live music and national dance tanura, amazingly delicious food and amazing views of the city at night. An evening spent on the dhow will definitely be magical and will be remembered for a long time.

Another option for traveling on a wooden ship with luxurious dishes and oriental sweets is a walk on the water in the Deira Creek area .

Excursions for outdoor enthusiasts

On a jet ski: Jumeirah’s jet ski pier awaits brave travelers! Those who want to see the main attractions of Dubai, feel the fresh sea breeze and get a boost of energy and good mood. The duration of the walk is from half an hour to two hours: there are four options to choose from (30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes). The instructor closely monitors the group and ensures the safety of all travelers. The jet skis are new, powerful and very beautiful.

Kayaking: An hour-long kayak trip along the city’s waterways from Dukes The Palm. Two tour options: solo or in pairs. An invigorating journey for those who want to get an unforgettable experience and new impressions.

Fishing: a four-hour boat trip where you can catch sea bass or barracuda, grouper or red mullet, see schools of fish and fish passing by your boat and enjoy the sea air. The organizers will provide tackle for bottom fishing, spinning fishing or trolling, and the caught fish can be taken with you as a trophy.

Crab hunting: you can leave relaxed Dubai at night and go on a real hunt! Crab fishing is a unique experience, and the prey can be cooked and eaten. After the hunt, a hot dinner, a jacuzzi and a swimming pool, a bar are waiting for you.

Night city tours

A yacht tour in Dubai at dusk reveals the beauty of the city from a new perspective. Stunning views of the night city fill with delight, impress with splendor and enchant.

You can choose options that combine walking with water, or you can book tours that include only water excursions. You will be able to see the main sights of the city, learn its history, admire the gorgeous views of the Marina area with lively picturesque embankments.

Water excursions in Dubai amaze with variety in terms of price, duration and program. Tours for lovers of delicious food and for hunters of cool photos, options for connoisseurs of outdoor activities and for those who choose comfort – Dubai will give everyone a special adventure.

How to choose a tour

Boat excursions

On a light, maneuverable boat, you can sail through the city’s canals to see the skyscrapers of Dubai and other attractions from a short distance. This format is most often used for short excursions without meals, however, an additional program can also be included in the tour.

Who suits

Boat excursions are well suited for individual tourists and small groups – as a rule, the maximum number of participants does not exceed six. This format can be convenient for tourists who want to adjust the standard itinerary of the trip (by agreement with the guide).

Jet Ski Tours

In the Persian Gulf, you can ride a jet ski – such a walk will not only allow you to admire the scenery, but also get adrenaline from conquering the sea waves. A jet ski can be rented for half an hour or longer: rates and details depend on the operator. The price may include instruction, as well as additional activities for tourists.

Who suits

Walking on jet skis is a good choice for those who love outdoor activities. The age limit for driving a jet ski is 16 years.

What can you do during the tour

Stroll along Dubai Marina

The Dubai Marina artificial canal is one of the main city attractions and a convenient place for boat trips. Before transferring to a boat or a yacht, you can take a walk along the canal embankment: there is a well-equipped promenade, next to which there are modern skyscrapers, cafes and souvenir shops, and a beach area. Pay attention to the yachts parked near the shore: the local yacht club is known far beyond the UAE.

See all of the city’s top sights from the water

Sailing through the Persian Gulf, you can see many Dubai attractions from an unusual angle, including:

the tallest skyscraper Burj Khalifa;

Blue Waters Island with a 250-meter Ferris wheel Dubai Eye;

hotel-sail Burj al-Arab;

picturesque Jumeirah beach.

During a sightseeing tour, you can not only see the “visiting cards” of the Arab metropolis, but also learn more about them: for this you need to choose a tour with a guide.

Admire the man-made Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is one of the recognizable symbols of Dubai, an artificial island in the form of a palm tree. Sailing next to it, you can see and take pictures of the five-star Atlantis Hotel: a luxurious skyscraper decorated in traditional Arabic style. From the yacht or boat, you will also have a view of the picturesque villas and the 11-kilometer breakwater that protects the island from big waves.

Swim in scenic spots

The warm waters of the Persian Gulf are great for swimming – there are many beautiful beaches equipped with sun loungers, changing cabins and other infrastructure necessary for a comfortable stay. Check in advance if the tour includes swimming stops and bring your swimwear.

See the Mir archipelago

Approximately 4 km from the coast in Dubai is the artificial World Archipelago, a unique man-made complex, which has been under construction since 2003. It consists of dozens of small islands that form shapes resembling continents. Access to the islands is limited, but during a boat trip you can see the unusual archipelago from the water.

Complement your walk with lunch or dinner

The program of the boat trip may include lunch or dinner: tourists can have a snack while admiring the beautiful scenery. The menu depends on the selected offer: tour operators offer both traditional Arabic dishes and other national cuisines. Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks may also be included in the price.

Take unforgettable photos

During a sea excursion, you can not only admire Dubai from the water, but also take unusual photos. You can shoot both city and sea landscapes or arrange a photo session on a yacht. To capture more of the sights, choose sightseeing tours that take you close to Dubai’s iconic skyscrapers and man-made islands. Some tours include special photo stops.

The UAE is famous for its hospitality, high service and the number of interesting places. On the UAEtours website you will learn a lot of interesting things about the main attractions of the UAE. For example, many tourists recommend visiting the aquarium in Dubai Mall. This is a reservoir of rather impressive size, designed not only to observe marine life, but also for diving and snorkeling.

There are more than 100 species of fish in the aquarium. Guests of the Oceanarium are offered several options for entertainment – from the most harmless observation of the inhabitants to extreme feeding of predatory fish and diving to sharks.

Is it really the biggest?

Many sites on the Internet write that the Dubai Mall Aquarium is the largest in the world. If you look at the ratings of oceanariums, then you will not find it anywhere in the first place. Who is right?

Of course, the Dubai Mall Aquarium cannot claim the role of the largest oceanarium, and never did. There are only 10 million liters of water here, which is a modest figure by modern standards.

In such assessments, there is one curious nuance associated with the difference between the concepts of Russian and English.

When we say the word “oceanarium”, we mean a certain set of aquariums with fish and other marine animals. When we say “aquarium”, we mean a certain one single container of water. In Russian there is a clear separation of these concepts.

There is no such division in English, and the words “oceanarium” and “aquarium” are synonymous. As a result, it is very difficult to understand exactly what English-speaking authors mean. Most translations of texts into Russian are made without taking this nuance into account, and we have a complete mess.

The Dubai Mall Aquarium is not and never has been the largest AQUARIUM in the world. But it could well become the largest AQUARIUM. He was planned as such, but fate decreed otherwise. The Americans were ahead and managed to open an aquarium in the city of Atlanta, Georgia even before the opening of the Dubai Mall. In 2012, the American record was broken by a new aquarium at Marine Life in Singapore.

In short, the Dubai Mall Aquarium is not a record holder in terms of size, although it does have one official world record. Which one? Read on.

Figures and facts

The record belongs to the main glass through which visitors to the Dubai Mall look into the aquarium. It is the world’s largest monolithic acrylic glass slab. It is 33 meters long, 8.5 meters high and 7.5 centimeters thick. Acrylic glass is well known to most readers, in Russia this material is called the word “plexiglass”.

This is the same plexiglass that we use in summer cottages to cover greenhouses with tomatoes and cucumbers. Only this Plexiglas slab is much larger and weighs 245 tons.

This acrylic slab can withstand a giant mass of water. The aquarium measures 51 by 20 by 11 meters and holds 10 million liters of water. This is twice as much as in the oceanarium in Moscow at VDNKh.

A tunnel for visitors 48 meters long passes through the aquarium. This is also not a record, recall that in the aquarium in Shanghai you can walk through a tunnel 155 meters long.

The aquarium is so tall that it is located on two floors of the Dubai Mall. On the third floor is the Underwater Zoo (underwater zoo). There are 140 species of animals in the aquarium and zoo, about 33,000 individuals.

The administration claims that there are about 300 sharks and rays in the aquarium at the same time. It is difficult to comment on this figure, we did not count. Here is the largest population of sharks of the species common sand shark . Of course, this is not the largest shark in the world, but the dimensions are impressive – 2.5 meters in length and 160 kilograms of weight.

The most long-suffering oceanarium

Even before the Dubai Mall Aquarium opened, trouble began to occur.

In 2008, as soon as its inhabitants settled in the aquarium, sand sharks began to kill and eat reef sharks (pictured right). This behavior of predators is atypical, and oceanologists are still arguing about its causes.

On February 26, 2010, a real emergency happened. The acrylic glass cracked and water began to flow from the aquarium. Then the visitors of the shopping center were urgently evacuated, and all the world media wrote about the incident.

There were no casualties, only a few people got their feet wet. The leak was small and no fish were hurt.

We hope that there will be no further incidents at the Dubai Mall Aquarium.

Programs and ticket prices

The aquarium in Dubai Mall will not impress those who have already been to large aquariums. Anyone can see the aquarium’s main tank from the corridors of the Dubai Mall on the ground floor. Fish, rays and sharks can be seen perfectly. You can seriously hang out at the aquarium, because it’s not sickly hypnotizing.

How to get to the aquarium in Dubai Mall

You can get to the Dubai Mall , where the aquarium is located, by:

By metro to the station – Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall. From there by free bus number 25 (Shuttle-Bus), or on foot across the bridge (Metro Link Bridge). For this, by the way, you don’t even need to spend your energy – a travolator works throughout the entire bridge (828 meters).

By shuttle bus number 27 from the old part of the city (from the Deira Gold Souk). Departure times are every 15 minutes.

On buses No. 28, 29, 50, 81, F13, X22, coming from various parts of the city.

RTA Highways and Transportation Authority (RTA) This includes all public transport (Dubai Bus, Dubai Tram, Dubai Taxi, Water Taxi, Dubai Metro).

You can “catch” a taxi right on the street, but it will be easier to order a car through one of the special applications. Work in Dubai:

«Smart Taxi» is «RTA Dubai»;

Kiwitaxi, with which you can not only order a taxi online in advance, but also choose a car with a Russian-speaking driver.

Uber;

Careem is the local equivalent of Uber. A big plus of taxi calling apps in Dubai is that they independently determine the user’s location using GPS.

In addition, you can get to the Dubai Mall by rented car along the Sheikh Zayed Road. Landmark – Financial Center.
